Budget tip: Croatia has been in the eurozone since 2023 – no currency exchange needed! The islands are pricier than the mainland; konobas off the tourist trail often offer better food at half the price.

Direct flights to Split or Dubrovnik are available from many German cities with Eurowings, Ryanair, and Croatia Airlines – flight time only 1.5-2 hours, prices from €50-100 return.

Getting around: Jadrolinija ferries connect coastal cities and islands reliably and affordably. A rental car is especially worthwhile for the Split → Dubrovnik road trip along the coastal road.
